Feel Your Best

Ah, the weekday blues. They are way too familiar to all of us. That heavy and tired feeling you get as you pull yourself from the bed that feels like a magnet. Mondays and Tuesdays can be a drag whether you're in school, work, etc. To fight the weekday lull, here are some things I have found that help me to feel my best and prepare for the week.

Set aside time to get dressed

Sweats and leggings are so easy, they don't require any thought or any effort. But honestly I think that the days that I feel the best are the days I am really dressed and feel good about the way I look. Make sure to wake up a little earlier and take that time to pamper yourself (suggestion: if taking time to decide your outfit takes too long, plan out your outfits for the week on Sunday).

Eat a good breakfast

There's that cheesy saying, "breakfast is the most important meal of the day." I'm not sure if it's the most important, but the days that I make sure to eat a healthy meal before heading to work are the best days. Whether it's a banana and oatmeal, granola and yogurt, or some scrambled eggs, starting your day off with something to eat will avoid that afternoon energy low.

Make a list

It sounds very simple, but making lists for me is key to getting stuff done. I make a list for things to do at work, and things I need to do at home; things I need to do today, and things I need to do for the week (I even add a couple items I'm done with so I can cross them off haha). I check things off as I go but try not to put too much pressure on myself to finish it quickly. You feel so powerful after crossing off an entire "To do" list !!!

Get a workout in

The perfect way that I have found to release stress before or after a stressful day is a hard and sweaty workout. Grab your Nikes and go to a Zumba class, do some pilates, go for a jog, or even just find a ten minute yoga workout. Even though you may not have time to go to the gym for two hours, taking
just a little time out of the day to take care of you is so important !
